AGNEEPATH (2012) 5 Days Overall Collection

Hrithik Roshan’s Agneepath collected 22.65 crores on day 1 beating bodyguard(21cr) at box-office ....

Agneepath has crashed at the box-office on Day 2, with collections just as shocking as Day 1. While the film opened to packed houses on the first day of it’s release, collections dropped by more than 50% on Day 2 – as the film managed only 11 – 12 crores nett in India.

Thursday was a Holiday (Republic Day), but as Friday was a working day, collections were expected to drop by around 30 – 35%. But a 11 crore drop, something that has never happened before, was totally unexpected.

Saturday. The morning shows were on-par with Friday, but picked up considerably for the afternoon and evening shows.

So far, Agneepath has collected Rs 22 crores on Day 1 (Thursday) and Rs 12 crores on Day 2 (Friday). Saturday is expected to be 15 crores+, which would take the 3 day total to a humungous 49-50 crores (average of 16.5 crores a day).

If collections pick up further on Sunday, then weekend business of 65 crores+ is possible.

Business is strong at single-screens, where the film has received tremendous appreciation. It’s expected to remain steady for the next 2 weeks at the smaller centers.

After a very good weekend at the box-office, Agneepath made Rs. 7.5-8 crore (all-India net collections) on Monday (January 31). The Hrithik Roshan starrer had collected Rs. 67 crore over its four-day weekend.

This takes its 5-day tally to Rs. 74.5-75 crore. Multiplexes have shown more of a decline in collections than single screen cinemas. The film, produced by Karan Johar and directed by Karan Malhotra, is a remake of the 1990 Amitabh Bachchan starrer Agneepath.
